We are an interesting species – We seem more concerned with paying more for gas and other energy related products and services that we are with protecting ourselves from the known devastation of a nuclear bomb.
The devastation of a nuclear bomb is well documented and experienced. A few planes flying into buildings on September 11, 2001 killed over two thousand Americans and had a profund impact on three economy and psyche of Americans. Imagine the devastation of an Iranian ballistic missile with a nuclear warhead hitting New York, or any other city. Hundreds of thousands would be incinerated instantaneously and millions of others would perish from the radioactive aftermath.
But why is the threat of annihilation from Iran with a ballistic missile and nuclear capability different from the other nations with nuclear weapons? Because Iran is run by religious zealots who don’t care about dying – they welcome dying in the name of Allah because they become martyrs.
So it seems that paying more for gas and other products and services affected by higher energy prices while the Iranian threat and capability is being removed should be welcomed and supported. At the saying and truth goes, Freedom isn’t free.
