The notion of ‘reparations’ to the descendants of slavery is an affront to those who freed them. However, if there were to be ‘reparations’ here is what it should look like.

Descendants of the freed slaves should pay reparations to the descendant families of the approximately 360,000 Union soldiers (black and white) who died freeing them. Many of those soldiers are buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
